Timebadger privacy policy
Effective 31 October 2026
Timebadger has no account, ads, tracking, analytics or crash reporting. Almost everything stays on your iPhone. The one exception is People together: if you connect with someone who also uses Timebadger, your two phones pass a few sealed messages through our relay. We can't read them, and the relay deletes each one once both phones have it.
What stays on your iPhone
The social apps you pick and their minutes each day; your usual day, daily allowance and quiet hours; a short log of when Screen Time reported, used to check the counting; the friends who came over and the time won back; the people and birthdays you add, and how often you've seen them; and when you first opened Timebadger and the days you opened it. They're saved on your iPhone and shared only with Timebadger's own widgets and Screen Time extensions there. Device backups, such as iCloud Backup, may include app data according to your device settings.
People together
If you connect with someone, by scanning their code or opening their link, Timebadger sends only what that needs:
- When you connect: your name and your phone's public keys.
- Afterwards: your name, how many friends you've met in Timebadger, and your Together taps (one a week at most).
Each message is encrypted on your phone so only the other person's phone can read it, and signed so no one can pretend to be you. It passes through a relay run by Pensive Frog Games on Cloudflare. The relay can't read the messages. It keeps each one only until both phones have it, and never longer than 30 days. It keeps no logs, no accounts and nothing that says who you are.
Timebadger never sends your social media minutes, which apps you use, your birthdays list, or anything from Screen Time. To stop, tap Disconnect on someone in People, or erase all data in Settings; your phone's keys then change, and nobody connected before can reach it.
Screen Time
With your permission, Timebadger uses Apple's Screen Time to count the minutes you spend in the social apps you pick and to pause them when your daily allowance runs out. Apple's app picker gives Timebadger private tokens for those apps, not their names, and Screen Time counts their minutes on your iPhone. The Apps and hours report is drawn by Screen Time on your iPhone, and Apple doesn't let what it shows leave your iPhone. You can take back the permission at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
Contacts
Choose from Contacts opens Apple's contact picker. Timebadger has no access to your contacts: it sees only the person you pick, and saves only their name and birthday.
Notifications
Birthday reminders and Timebadger's notes are scheduled on your iPhone, after it asks your permission. Nothing is sent anywhere to make them happen.
Free months and the purchase
Timebadger is free for three months, and one in-app purchase keeps it after that. The App Store handles that purchase and your payment details under Apple's own privacy policy. It tells Timebadger, on your iPhone, whether you bought it and when you first downloaded it; Pensive Frog Games receives nothing about you from the app. So that reinstalling Timebadger or setting your iPhone's clock back doesn't start the free months again, when you first opened it and the latest date it has seen are also kept in your iPhone's Keychain, which stays on your iPhone after the app is deleted.
Erasing your data
Erase All Data, in Timebadger's Settings, removes your people, social apps, minutes and game. It keeps when you first opened Timebadger, the days you opened it and the latest date it has seen, so the free months don't start again. Deleting the app removes its data, except those two dates in the Keychain.
Apple may provide TestFlight feedback and diagnostic information under its own privacy terms and your choices.
If you email support, Pensive Frog Games receives the information you choose to send and keeps it only as needed to answer you. Contact support@pensivefrog.games to request deletion of support correspondence.
The online policy describes the current release. Any change to what the app collects will require an updated policy before it is introduced.
