Ink Garden privacy policy
Effective 30 October 2026
Ink Garden has no accounts, and the game does not send your gameplay or save to Pensive Frog Games.
Your progress, collection, settings and resumable puzzle stay on your device. The game keeps a recovery copy of its save. Device backups may include app data according to your device settings. Deleting the app removes its local data.
Ads
The iPhone app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, run by Google LLC: a short video only when you choose one, for five more moves when you run out, and now and then an ad between gardens. Ads are for general audiences only.
To show and measure ads, Google's software in the app collects your device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking when your iPhone asks), its approximate location from its internet address, information about your device, how the app and its ads are used, and diagnostic information such as crashes and the app's performance. Google uses this under its own privacy policy; see also how Google uses information from apps that use its services. Pensive Frog Games does not receive it. Google must protect this data at least as well as this policy does, and keeps and deletes it as its own policy describes.
- Tracking: after two finished gardens the app explains, then your iPhone asks whether its ads may use your advertising identifier. You can change this any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Saying no still shows ads, just not personalized ones.
- The EEA, the UK and Switzerland: Google's consent form appears before any ad, and About > Privacy choices brings it back to change your choices.
- US states whose laws let you opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted ads (California and others): About > Privacy choices does it.
Remove ads
Remove ads is a one-time purchase through Apple's App Store. It turns off every ad for good, and Google's ad software then no longer starts. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple: Pensive Frog Games never sees your payment details, name or Apple account. At each start the app asks the App Store only whether you own it, so a new phone gets it back with Restore purchase.
Optional Apple Game Center
On iOS, when you are signed into Game Center, Ink Garden sends earned achievements and each day's result in today's garden (the moves it took and the fruit it harvested, for the Today's garden leaderboard) to Apple, linked to your Game Center profile. Your nickname, achievements and leaderboard ranking may be visible to other players according to your Apple settings. After today's garden, the game may ask to see your Game Center friends, to show the friend just ahead of you today; you can say no, and it is not sent to a Pensive Frog Games server. Game Center does not back up or restore your garden save. You can play without signing in and while offline.
Apple handles Game Center under its Game Center privacy information and your account settings. You can manage Game Center through your device settings. Removing the app does not remove achievements or scores already held by Apple.
Apple may provide TestFlight feedback and diagnostic information under its own privacy terms and your choices.
If you email support, Pensive Frog Games receives the information you choose to send and keeps it only as needed to answer you. Contact support@pensivefrog.games to request deletion of support correspondence.
The online policy describes this release, and any change to it.
Notifications, sharing and ratings (iPhone)
Today's garden, a new garden each day, is worked out on your device from the date: nothing is downloaded or sent for it. It can remind you once a day, but only if you turn the reminder on with the bell on today's garden's card or on the pause card. Your iPhone then asks your permission, and the game sets one notification on the iPhone itself, at the time of day you turned it on: nothing is sent to Pensive Frog Games or anyone else to make it happen. Turn it off with the same bell on the pause card, or in Settings → Notifications → Ink Garden.
After a win, Share opens your iPhone's own share sheet with a line about your garden, the App Store link and a picture of the screen; after today's garden, with its moves, its fruit and a mark for each move. You choose whether, where and with whom to share it, and the game sends nothing by itself. Now and then, after a garden won, the game may show Apple's own prompt to rate Ink Garden; Apple decides whether it appears.
